Born in 1954, Georges Myral developed a passion for painting at an early age. His artistic roots lie in the abstract movements of the twentieth century, from which he gradually forged his own visual language. With a technical background, he pursued a professional career while continuously developing his artistic practice, exhibiting regularly in both solo and group exhibitions. In 2012, he devoted himself entirely to painting, focusing on an abstract style closely related to Abstract Expressionism. In 2018, following what he saw as the natural evolution of his work, he introduced a new approach in which the support itself became a central element of the composition. While canvas remains the primary material, the stretchers are assembled into geometric structures with varying depths. The result is a contemporary wall sculpture that often moves beyond the traditional square or rectangular format. Colour is applied sparingly within geometric spaces, allowing the eye to move between transparency and opacity. Beyond the harmonious balance of a form of art that may appear decorative, the soft light emanating from his works invites contemplation and introspection.
