Block513 lives between Paris, Brittany and London. The starting point of his artistic work originates from his graphic research around the 'Worms'. Inspired by the Celtic and Scandinavian folklore of Korrigans, Elves and Trolls, Block513's 'Worms' create a graphic universe populated by funny and mischievous little creatures. Neither human nor animal, some consist only of a head, while others have a single arm ending in an arrow. Fantastic and supernatural, they come from nowhere and are often accompanied by flowers and everyday objects used in unexpected ways.
In this wonderful, simple and joyful world, adults and children alike meet as if in a waking dream. Through his approach to and expression of line, the artist creates an original graphic language. Through the rhythm of his strokes, he develops a new form of writing. He explores the boundary between the readable and the unreadable, methodically guiding his work toward abstraction and minimalism.
